Cookie Notice
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, mobile) by websites you visit. Similar technologies include pixel tags, web beacons, local storage and device fingerprinting. In this Notice we use the term "cookies" broadly to refer to all such technologies.
2. Why we use cookies
ACT Cyber uses cookies to:
- enable the Website to function correctly (essential cookies);
- understand aggregate visitor patterns so that we can improve content and structure (privacy-preserving analytics, no cookies set); and
- maintain session continuity and protect the Website against malicious activity.
The Website does not use cookies for advertising or for tracking visitors across other websites for marketing purposes.
3. Cookies and similar technologies in use
ACT Cyber’s website uses the following:
- Strictly necessary cookies and storage — used to operate the Website, deliver content efficiently, protect against common web attacks, and remember interface preferences within a single browsing session. These are session-scoped (cleared when you close your browser) and cannot be disabled without affecting Website functionality.
- Privacy-preserving analytics — the Website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless service that measures aggregate page views and visitor counts. No cookies are set, no identifiers are stored on your device, and individual visitors are not tracked across sessions. Cloudflare receives a beacon containing the URL viewed, referrer, browser/device user-agent, and connection timing. Visitor IP addresses are processed transiently by Cloudflare to derive coarse geographic region and are then discarded. See Cloudflare’s Web Analytics privacy notice for details. ACT Cyber does not perform behavioural advertising, cross-site tracking, or any other form of individual visitor tracking.
- Server-side logging — like all web servers, the hosting platform (Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps fronted by Azure Front Door) keeps short-term request logs containing IP address, user-agent string, request path, response code and timestamp. These logs are used solely for security monitoring, abuse prevention and operational troubleshooting, and are retained for the period set by the hosting platform.
- Local and session storage — used to remember non-identifying interface preferences for the duration of a browsing session. No personal information is stored in local or session storage.
- Third-party content — where the Website embeds or links to third-party content (for example, font services or imagery hosted on external networks), those third parties may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. We minimise use of such third-party content.
ACT Cyber’s Website does not use cookies or technologies for: advertising, cross-site tracking, behavioural advertising, social media tracking pixels, or third-party marketing.
4. Managing cookies
Most web browsers allow you to view stored cookies, delete cookies, block cookies from specific sites or all sites, and configure preferences for accepting cookies. Refer to your browser’s help documentation for specific instructions:
- Google Chrome — support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
- Mozilla Firefox — support.mozilla.org/kb/cookies-information-websites-store-on-your-computer
- Apple Safari — support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-sfri11471
- Microsoft Edge — support.microsoft.com/microsoft-edge
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will affect functionality dependent on session continuity. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not set cookies, so blocking cookies will not affect the analytics described in section 3. Visitors who do not wish to be measured at all can block requests to static.cloudflareinsights.com at the browser or network level.
5. Do Not Track signals
ACT Cyber’s Website does not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals at this time. We do not engage in behavioural advertising or cross-site tracking that would be affected by such signals.
6. Changes to this Notice
This Cookie Notice may be updated from time to time. The current version is available on the Website with the "last updated" date shown at the top of this document.
7. Related policies
This Cookie Notice should be read together with our Privacy Policy and our Website Terms of Use.
